Red cape, pink bunny, holiday outfit... A Unique Contestant at Seoul Half Marathon

The Spring Day Marathon Festival 2025 Seoul Half Marathon (co-hosted by Seoul Metropolitan Government, Chosun Ilbo and Seoul Sports Council) was held in downtown Seoul on Wednesday. Participants dressed in unique costumes showing off their individuality drew attention.

Choi Young-soo, 33, who is wearing a pink rabbit outfit and sunglasses, was warming up at Gwanghwamun Plaza with a red vuvuzela in his hand. Choi, who is participating at the Seoul Half Marathon for the third time, likes unusual cosplay outfits. In the past, Choi once participated in a costume play of Son Okong, the main character of the Japanese cartoon Dragon Ball. "It is hard to run even a little bit because of his heavy fur coat, but I get energized because people and spectators cheer for him more," Choi said. The vuvuzela is used to publicize the distance. The team let the running crew members know by blowing the air every 1 kilometer.

Choi Hyung-yoon, 42, a half-course runner wearing a red cap, said, "I wanted to pursue a different kind of fun than my personal record. So I copied the Japanese cartoon "Red capo Cha Cha Cha." It was a cartoon I used to watch a lot when I was young, so I suddenly remembered it. Choi's record was around 1 hour and 20 minutes. It was a little faster than expected, but it turned out better than expected. "I urge students to jog for at least 30 minutes," said Choi, a lecturer at a math academy. "I want to introduce students to running with this event. It is one of my dreams to come out together." 온라인바카라

Some parents run with their stroller at every competition. Yoo Sang-min (34) joined her daughter Asol (3). Yoo took part in the half course for the first time to celebrate her daughter's birthday. In the past, she trained herself by running the 10-kilometer course with her child every two months. On weekday afternoons or Saturday mornings, when her child returned from kindergarten, she had to skip the 10-kilometer course. Pushing the stroller is twice as difficult as pushing the child, and she cannot run in midsummer or in the middle of winter because she has to run with her child, but every moment with her is fun. "I hope you don't forget that your father is always by your daughter's side," Yoo said.

Bae Han-byul (40) enjoyed the course in summer vacation attire. She completed the half course wearing a pink Hawaiian shirt and an ukulele (instrument) on her shoulder. Bae was a counselor at a social welfare organization. In other competitions, she ran in a suit with the concept of an office worker, but she prepared this outfit as if she were on vacation at the Seoul Half Marathon. "Running is like a daily vacation for me," Bae said. He couldn't run because he had two sons and took care of them, but he started running again two years ago.
